Inhibiting and facilitating fear in mathematics in grammar school students.
Kratochvílová, Aneta ; Pavelková, Isabella (advisor) ; High, Radka (referee)
In the school environment, students commonly encounter various forms of fear. In the literature, the fear experienced by students is thematized as test anxiety and fear of failure. School anxiety is associated both with the deterioration of pupils' performance and with its potential improvement. The aim of this work is to map the relationship between pupils' experienced fear in mathematics lessons, their performance and other motivational variables. We focused on differentiating the facilitating, for the performance beneficial fear, and the inhibiting, for the performance debilitating fear. The data collection took place in the form of a questionnaire survey, with the involvement of students of the second year of the four-year grammar school and the corresponding year of the six-year grammar school. We investigated the students' attitudes towards mathematics, the degree of experienced fear, the average grade in mathematics, learning motivation for the subject and BIS/BAS sensitivity, representing an indicator of facilitating and inhibiting fear. We used open questions to map the moment of fear. The results show a connection between the pupils' experience of fear, attitudes towards mathematics, partly also learning motivation and their average grade in this subject. Success in the subject of...
Multimedia language support of DSP in German
Škůrek, Pavel ; Vídenka, Rostislav (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
The aim of the work is to provide a German speaking student with a simple and well-arranged list of terms, that appear in the sphere of mathematics, physics and the digital signal processing. Each terms are not explained in a difficult way. Mostly, there is only the basic definition, what the term means, or his function. This mean that this work can´t be taken as a textbook, but only a first aid for a funbling student. The work id divided into 3 databases. The first database Mathematik contains the list of all mathematical terms and relations at the level of secondary school. The database contains these chapters: Grundbegriffe, Mathematische Logik, Funktion, Trigonometrie des rechtwinkligen Dreiecks, kongruennte Darstellung im Ebene, ähnliche Darstellung im Ebene, Trigonometrie, komplexen Zahlen, Logarithmus, Vektor, analytische Geometrie, Folge, Differenzrechnung und Integralgleichung, Matrizen, Determinante, Kombinatorik a Wahrscheinlichkeit. The second database Physik contains the basic physical quantities, the student should know before entering the university. The database contains these chapters: Kinematik, Dynamik, Mechanik der starken Körper, Mechanik der Flüssigkeit, Elektizität, Magnetismus, Optik and Thermodynamik. The last database DSP is divided into 4 parts. It is divided by functionals blocks of each transmission and it is explaining each terms. They are Antialiasing, Analog-digital Wandler, Digital-analog Wandler and Spektral analysis. By this database, there is well-arranged czech - german and german - czech dictionary. These 3 databases are worked by the programm C++ Builder. The user can open each databese separately. All databases contain functions like for example searching, viewing the terms by tree structure, similar themes and so on. In the last database the user can add and change his own terms.

The aim of my work is to reflect expression coincidence that reflects the theoretical basis of cellular automata and quantum mechanics. I think that art should point to examples of accurate knowledge and in this way spread among potential viewers. This is how I try to get closer to the subjective utopian society WERP-VEGA. I am not entirely convinced that fine arts can change the political situation or address fundamental civilization complications, but I believe that art is able to predict freely one of the possible scenarios of the future because one is only able to do what he can imagine.
Presentation Software - Solid Geometry, Stereometry
Straka, Tomáš ; Kubíček, Radek (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
The main theme of this document is to describe the way of creating presentation software of solid geometry and stereometry. This application tool should help teachers more to explain the subject. Student has opportunity with this application to better understand explained subject. After a long  deliberation and cooperation with teachers from primary school we decided to choose a solid geometry and  stereometry like the aim of this application. Later we added part where I solve the right method used in geometry constructions. In this document is described the process of work proceeding beginning with analysis, over implementation to testing. Important parts of this application are graphic interface, application control tools and the form of object graphical representation.
Presentation Software for Mathematics on Elementary and High Schools
Szabo, Štefan ; Kubíček, Radek (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
This work serves as a mathematics presentation software for high schools. Its aim is to simplify, effect or otherwise improve the process of learning, by using computer graphics representation of individual math topics. Aplication is designed in such a manner so it can be easily extended by adding new modules.
Educational Website with Selected Math Basics for Bachelor's Degree Students with Economics Specialization
Růčka, Petr ; Hřebíček,, jiří (referee) ; Chvátalová, Zuzana (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the upgrade of the iMatematika.cz website into more complex educational website with selected math basics for students with economical specialization or for economists themselves. From the selected math basics the educational materials are made, on which educational videos and sets of test questions are created. The output of this master’s thesis is a new website which reflects this accomplished analysis.
Mathematical Methods in Economics
Mareček, Ján ; Vrábelová, Jana (referee) ; Bobalová, Martina (advisor)
Main focus of this thesis is to analyze mathematical methods in the field of economics and to describe both teoretically and practically some of the mathematical methods comonly used in economics.
Presentation Software - Triangle Basic Facts
Kašparová, Šárka ; Švub, Miroslav (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is about development of presentation software supporting teaching of mathematics - triangle basic geometrical facts. It suggests basic knowledge about education and triangles. The second part is about analysis and implementation of the program and tools that were applied in its development.
e-Learning System in the Education of Mathematical Disciplines
Pánik, Tomáš ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
Nowadays, mathematics is an elementary study area. A person who has not encountered it is hard to find. However, students often loathe mathematics and are afraid of it. Goal of this term project is to design and analyze software for mathematics education for elementary school, middle school, and high school students. We describe the motivation behind the software and its functionality. The software will be used solely for self-study. We attempt to create software which would ensure that students are not afraid of mathematics and that they enjoy their studies.
Alternative Ontology: topological Imagination and Topological Materialism
Mrva, Jozef ; Csefalvay,, András (referee) ; Kořínek,, David (referee) ; Cenek, Filip (advisor)
The dissertation Alternative Ontology, subtitled Topological Imagination and Topological Materialism, focuses on the analysis of spatial phenomena and space in the intentions of the mathematical discipline of topology, which is interested in spaces from the point of view of set theory. My goal is to present topology as a tool not only for contemporary philosophy, but also for artistic creation. For the purpose of the dissertation, I formulate two concepts: Topological imagination and Topological materialism. Topological imagination is a tool and method for creating and thinking with the consciousness of space as a dynamic structure, which is not bound only by fixed laws of geometry. This method originated as the name of my long-term artistic practice, which is largely based on the study of space, topology, knot theory and the search for ways of their application in artistic and theoretical work. I propose Topological materialism as a concept that combines the thinking of networks and multi-dimensional spaces with the philosophical currents of the materialist tradition, especially the New Materialism. My basic thesis is that these cannot be perceived separately. Materialism cannot be thought without its spatial dimension, and topology without anchoring in the material world becomes a mere abstraction. The second part of the dissertation is devoted to the analysis of specific spaces: the space we inhabit, which I call phenomenological, infrastructure, logistics space, information space and the space of capital. In addition to individual analyzes, I also focus on their intersections, connections and joint operation.
